Old Suttonians RFC is a sociable rugby club based near Cheam in Surrey at our lovely home ground on Northey Avenue. The club was founded in 1970 by Old Boys of Sutton Grammar School.

We currently field two teams: the 1XV play in the Surrey 3 League and our 2XV play in the Surrey Foundation League 1. The club trains weekly at local venues and we will warmly welcome new players of all ages and ability into our senior squads.

Our 1XV have enjoyed a recent table-topping year in Surrey 4 and have been promoted to Surrey 3 for the 2019-20 season.

Our 2XV compete in the Surrey Foundation which is a less intensive but equally enjoyable league. The club’s youngest player is 18 and our oldest hasn’t had to pay for a bus for some years!

With a wide range of experience and backgrounds the social side of the club is also excellent with events organised throughout the year including an awards dinner dance and annual tour.

Old Suttonians RFC was formed 45 years ago by Old Boys of Sutton Grammar School.

They wished to maintain the strong friendships and playing opportunities that had been fostered throughout their rugby playing at School and this ethos is still maintained in the club today.

All teams have a mixture of Old Boys, new faces and current sixth formers, which ensures a range of abilities, knowledge and fitness can be catered for.

The Old Suttonians are a friendly club, with the emphasis very much on enjoying the game and the great social side. Players and supporters are very welcome.

You might be new to the game, returning after a number of years or just keen to improve your fitness. Regardless of your background, age or skill level – there is a place for you at our club.
